Here are some ways to incorporate art into your PowerPoint
presentations. I find most of my art using www.google.com's
image finder. Just select image, enter your keywords and you'll find
art quicker than browsing art websites.
The quality of the slides are diminished on this page
because the screen shot puts them in a lower resolution than PowerPoint
projects them at, but I think you can get the idea from what is here.
I usually use some type of art on the title screen of
a song. I show this slide while the band plays the introduction of
the song, then immediately change to the lyrics when the singing begins.
Lyric Slides
On the lyric slides, I use a 36 pt. white courier font on
a black background. We've found this to be the easiest to read.
I used to place the text over art, but I got feedback from the audience
that they couldn't always read it well.
Teaching Slides
On this slide, I placed a black box on top of the art then
placed my teaching points beneath the portion of the art that I displayed.
This way, the audience could enjoy the art throughout the presentation.
On this slide, I placed the bullet
points on top of the art. Again, the art contributed to the audience's
learning experience throughout the teaching time.
Sometimes I put key words
in one of the colors I find in the piece of art to make the words "jump
off" the screen.
This picutre of a Tasmanian Devil
helped me communicate what it means for God to rebuke the devourer for
us. I also used two slides that used the cartoon character in the
same message.
